The summer of 2001 my family got to re-visit Japan! We lived there from March 1987 to July 1989, and this was the first time we had returned with the exception of my Dad, who was invited to a wedding there a few years ago. It was fun to hear everyone remark over how much we had grown (my 6 foot brother was only in 1st grade when we left). We ate a lot of sushi, too. At least, the rest of the family did; I had a lot of rice and such. It was just as expensive as ever, but I spent most of my money on snacks and stuff anyway. Being a child with an allowance of 100 yen a week (similar to a dollar a week), it's the only thing I remembered buying 12 years ago - and it was still good!
